| Three LOTI cars sit at
Independence Pass. Mark and his 05 Elise, Patrick and
his 72 Elan +2, and Brad and his 91 M100. We met Brad
and Theresa when we were nearly at the top. Theresa
was very uncomfortable riding as a passenger in the
mountains, but reported that driving was no issue! She
was VERY brave! |
Nick Adams is the vehicle development
manager for the Elise and it’s variants. Here he poses
with Mark and Patrick and the new Lotus 2-Eleven. Nick
chatted with us for about 10 minutes. In addition to
much "tech talk", we learned that he grew up in a home where
Lotus was the "holy grail" and that his childhood bedroom
was painted Lotus Green and Yellow. |

| The mountains rush by and in
the rear view mirror you can see the body of the Elise,
Pat's 72 +2, and the green Elise driven by a gentleman from
Maine who had traveled 6000+ miles with his dog! This
photo was taken coming down from Independence Pass on the
way to Buena Vista. |
Brad sits in the Chaterham owned by Simon
from Canada (in the blue shirt.) We met Simon in
Northwest Colorado while filling up in the middle of no
where, and Simon joined us at dinner on Saturday night.
He drove through the midwest rain storms on the way - that
is dedication! We're pretty sure that there is a Chaterham
in the future for Brad!!! |

| Pat proudly displays the
award he received - third place in his car's class (Elan
Plus 2) at Saturday's councours.
The award is a giant aspen leaf, very fitting to remember
the beautiful location at Aspen Snowmass in Colorado. |
Patrick exists one of the tunnels on the
way to LOG 27. His car had a handful of issues on the
journey, and we were very happy to arrive safely at 8 PM on
Friday night! |
